Council passes 2020-2026 Capital Improvement Plan
Posted on 09/26/2019
The Clintonville Common Council approved the 2020-2026 Capital Improvement Plan on August 13th, 2019.  This plan sets the goals and priorities for the City's capital needs for the next seven years, moving from a five-year plan.  It is a fully-balanced plan, assuming all budgeted funding sources are realized.  In the two previous years, the CIPs did not address funding for projects outside of the current borrowing cycle, which covered project years 2018-2020, and included projects for which staff did not know how they would be funded.  The 2020-2026 CIP is the result of a concerted effort to evaluate the needs of all departments and identify and prioritize accurate immediate and long-range capital needs.

The Council is very committed to reducing the City's debt burden and this CIP provides a pathway to achieving the goal of both debt tax rate reduction and reduced debt utilization.  While the success of this CIP is very much hinged on receipt of major grant funding, the City believes it is a realistic and achievable goal.  The Council encourages residents to read through this CIP so that they may gain a better understanding of the Council's direction for the City.
