NOW HIRING VOLUNTEER FIREMEN!! 

Firefighter Under direction of a Lieutenant, Captain, or Chief, provides direct services, individually and as a member of a team in response to fire, rescue, hazmat and other incidents. The Firefighter is certified by the State of Wisconsin as Firefighter I and II and may be permitted to respond to MABAS activation request. Each Firefighter must also attend a DNR approved wildland training course to qualify for billing hours on wildland response with CFD.

 

Firefighter Probationary/Exterior Only Under direction of a non-probationary member, provide direct services individually and as a member of a team in response to fire, rescue, hazmat and other incidents. The Firefighter Probationary or exterior only member has either not completed state FF1 Certification or isn’t approved for SCBA. Neither may not be permitted to participate in structural fire fighting activities which require the individual to enter or be in close proximity to the building, enclosed structure, vehicle or vessel.

Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities

• Enforce local laws and ordinances as directed by supervision or policy. Initiates field contacts to include traffic control, code enforcement, parking, crime prevention and public relations.

• Handles all initial complaints and investigations that are received and assigned. Makes recommendations in preventing future reoccurrences of incidents related to this job description. Is accountable for work performed and tasks required to perform with little or no supervision.

• Conducts physical security checks of vacation homes. Handles animal control violations, parking enforcement, vehicle lock outs, funeral assists, parades, and traffic control.

• Handles special duties assigned to him/her to aid in the operation of the department to meet its Mission. Is proactive in his/her approach to crime prevention and code enforcement.

• Assists with activities associated with the front service desk, to include answering phones, dispatching officers, handling telephone complaints, computer work, filing of reports. To include delivering files/paperwork to the District Attorney, Sheriff’s Department, Court House, Human Services and city meeting notices/subpoena service.

• Other duties as directed or assigned.

  • Past CSO's have been hired as PT Officer once they have completed their Associate's Degree.

The Department of Public Works Seasonal Positions:
  1. Clintonville Aqua Park Supervisor – 2+ positions available
  • Do you enjoy working outside and have a love for aquatics? Have you worked as a lifeguard and are now seeking an administrative position with more responsibility?
    Clintonville Parks & Recreation Division is seeking individuals to help in the supervision of the Clintonville Aqua Park Facility approximately 5-6 aquatic staff.
    Work Schedule: up to 40 hours per week June thru August. Daily hours vary and include evenings and weekends.
    Prior to hiring, the candidates need to file an application and a criminal background and driver's license check.
  • Work closely with the DPW Coordinator in day to day operations.
  • Supervise beach operations daily, assist as needed with operational decisions.
  • Consistently enforce all the Aqua Park Rules and Regulations.
  • Sign off on appropriate accident/incident reports.
  • Assist in maintaining RecDesk database on regular basis, processing admissions, tracking attendance/incidents/weather conditions, etc.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  1. Clintonville Aqua Park Lifeguard – 5+ positions available
  • Responsible for ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for swimmers.
  • Enforces and maintains familiarity with all aqua park rules and regulations.
  • Makes requests and issues orders to patrons in a courteous and concise manner.
  • Ensures all safety equipment is in good repair and keeps the aqua park area free of debris.  Inspect safety equipment on a daily basis.  Takes necessary action to prevent accidents.
  • Participates in emergency procedure drills.  Perform rescues and administers emergency first aid to sustain life and maintain life support until qualified medical personnel arrive.  Provides proper first aid for minor accidents.  Adheres to bloodborne pathogens procedures when administering First Aid and wears the proper personal protective equipment.  Documents and reports all incidents in accordance with City and/or department procedures. 
  • Maintains a high level of personal fitness by participating in mandatory weekly swim rescue requirements.  Attends mandatory in-service training pre-season and monthly throughout the season.
  • Follows all policies, procedures, and the philosophy that is set forth by the City of Clintonville Parks & Recreation Division.
  • Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Possess current certification in First Aid, CPR for Lifeguards, AED, and Lifeguard Training.  Current American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguard Training Certification???.
  • Experience with aquatic facilities is desirable. 
  • Working knowledge of aquatics facilities.
  • Skill and ability to work with varied age groups. Considerable skill in proper swimming and rescue techniques, maneuvers, and procedures. Considerable skill in First Aid and CPR.
  • Ability to be alert at all times. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to participate in weekly swim requirements. Ability to rescue swimmers and administer life saving techniques. Ability to work the required hours of the position, including mandatory pre-season in-service training and monthly training during the season.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
  • Frequent sitting, walking, standing, bending, twisting, squatting, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Occasional climbing, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to work in varied environmental conditions.

  • 16 years of age with a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License

  • Frequent sitting, walking, standing, bending, twisting, squatting, crouching and kneeling.  Occasional climbing, pushing and pulling.
Experience with using a variety of
turf maintenance equipment is preferred.
